Broadway

Hi!

We%26#39;re going to be seeing Wicked next Saturday and hopefully going to the %26#39;Behind the Emerald Curtain%26#39; tour aswell so we%26#39;ll probably end up spending most of the day around Broadway. Apart from the shows what else could we see or do there for the day??

Also the Tony Awards are on that weekend on Sunday the 7th...would there be any special performances or anything like that on for it???

Thanks for your help!!! :)

Broadway

You really don%26#39;t have to hang around ';Broadway'; - All the theaters are not in one small area - very spread out. You could take a asubway up to Central Park or to lower Manhattan - what is your exact time schedule.

Broadway

The %26#39;Emerald Curtain Tour%26#39; starts at 10am, we%26#39;re hoping to eat at Ellen%26#39;s Stardust Diner before the show and the show is at 8pm!

There is no reason why you need to hang around Broadway for the entire day. Feel free to spend the morning doing as you wish, you are only a subway ride away from anything and will make it back on time.

I suspect you have the mistaken impression that

1) Broadway is the name of a neighborhood, as well as a street, and

2) all theaters are on Broadway

Broadway is actually a very long street (it stretches about 12 miles in Manahttan), and few theaters are actually on Broadway. You seem to mean ';the theater district';, but there is no reason in the world to spend the whole day there. The area is well served by the subway system; hop on a train and you can be somewhere else in minutes.

If you go to ';Behind the Emerald Curtain'; ask them if there%26#39;s a sequel to Wicked in the works based on the sequel book that%26#39;s out now....
