One more question about hotel choice... thanxs

I just noticed the Holiday Inn Manhattan coming up as a new hotel in midtown... the price is quite reasonable with offer and it includes breakfast. There are not many reviews so I would appreciate any suggestions as to weather it is a good choice as far as location and hotel type. How does it compare to The Hotel at Times Square, the Doubletree Metro or the Roosevelt (which are hotels that I am considering). Thanks again...

Hi

The location is good central location close to Rockerfeller center. The Roosevelt hotel is very close to everything also but an older hotel. The both locations are good. The only thing is that the rooms are small for the Holiday inn. The double tree metro location the hotel itself is ok.. I would say out of the 3 I like the locations in this order.

Holiday inn

Roosevelt

Doubletree.

Thanks for the info...

How do you feel ';The Hotel at Times Square'; compares to the Holiday Inn? Which do you think is nicer and in a better location? thanks

I am also looking for a hotel and have checked the Holiday Inn but for the 2 night I needed in june there is no reduction in price. Don%26#39;t know if about the hotel except that it has just been renovated. I wonder if the Hotel at TS is the same type of hotel? I think it%26#39;s only a 2 star?? The reviews are not very good except for location.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn 2 or 3 years ago. It had just opened, so it was very clean. The rooms are small, with not much of any view. I believe there are only about 6 rooms per floor. Great location. Staff was very friendly. Continental breakfast area is small, but with breakfast included was a nice touch. Would recommend this hotel.

We are staying at the Renaissance Hotel Times Square in June, just because I don%26#39;t like to stay in the same place each time we come to New York.

I don%26#39;t remember if you ever gave your exact dates but if you want help, you should post dates and what you really want. I know you need 2 rooms each for 3 (2 adults and a teen). There won%26#39;t be a PERFECT place or a perfect hotel. The rooms at the Holiday Inn are small but it%26#39;s perfectly fine. The Hotel at Times Square has 2 queen beds.

There%26#39;s now a special on travelzoo for the Affinia 50 which is a bit nicer than any of these imo. I THINK their 2 bedded rooms are 2 queens (but you might call and check). The Affinia 50 is in the same general area as the Doubletree Metropolitan and I think nicer.

The places you%26#39;re considering are all budget/middle of the road chain hotels with the exception of the Roosevelt. The Roosevelt is an old classic NYC hotel that has some elegance in the lobby areas but the rooms are very dated.

thanks again...NYwhiz..

My dates are June 13 - 15. Now that we are closer to the date I am considering a pre-payment discount at a nicer hotel. Yes we need two rooms with 2 beds(doubles are fine). The party we are traveling with would like to stay at about $170. a night. Thanks

by the way, happy belated birthday, hope you had a good one.
