My boyfriend and I are travelling to New York for the first time in late August. He is a mad sports fan, in particular American football, and was very disappointed to learn we would be visiting before the season started... Not to fear! We have found there is a preseason game on 29th August between Jets and Giants, hurrah!
To get tickets we will have to use StubHub, and I was wondering if anyone had any success sending the tickets to the hotel they would be staying?
Also, can anyone recommend which seats are best (for under $90/ticket)
I hope this isn%26#39;t too silly a question...
Thanks for tolerating my first post (woot, woot)

Not a silly question at all! I can%26#39;t help you with which seats are best, but to get an answer on your question about sending the tickets to your hotel, why don%26#39;t you send an email directly to stubhub? If you go to the stubhub home page and click on help, the next page has a link to ';contact us';. Fill out the form and send them your question. That way, you%26#39;ll get the answer straight from them. You may also want to ask them about what you should enter when asked to provide your mailing address (if that wouldn%26#39;t be the address of the hotel), since stubhub is mainly set up for US and Canadian residents. I believe NSW probably has different postal codes than the US!
I bought tickets from Stubhub for the first time this spring (for baseball) and I printed the tickets from my computer. It worked out well.
Ruby, can you keep us updated on how you go.
My sis %26amp; I wanna take in some sports when we are there and I was looking at stubhub as an option.
There are allways scalpers alogng Rt. 120. If stub hub dosn%26#39;t work you can try them. They might be willing to negotiate on a pre season game.
keewart, I believe the option to print out tickets only applies to Major League Baseball games, so that would not work in this case.
Thanks for the help, Rocco. I had initially emailed the StubHub help desk to check if I could use an Australian billing address (and they said ok). They replied with a generic email explaining I could use my hotel address as a delivery point (and suggested putting my name then ';Guest'; for front desk to hold). I am a bit of a nervous nelly though and I think I will call the hotel and check if this will be ok. I would hate for my tickets to get lost after going through so much to get them!
If all else fails.... you will see me hanging with the scalpers!
Steph, I will let you know how I go...
Thanks again for everyones help!
Hi rubygirl21
My husband and I are heading to New York on 20th June and we ordered tickets through Stubhub to the final day of the US Open (golf). We had trouble with billing addresses etc. but perserved with them and got our order processed. We got the tickets sent to our hotel and got the concierge to check them when they arrived. So far so good!
We%26#39;ve bought tickets to a baseball game in New York and we just printed the tickets on our computer. Once paid for an email arrived a few days leter to say they were ready to be printed out.
If you have a smart phone, e.g. iPhone, Blackberry, etc. go to www.tickets3g.com:
http://tickets3g.com/genre/leaf/5650 - for Yankees Tickets.
http://tickets3g.com/genre/177 - for Broadway Tickets
http://tickets3g.com/genre/1 - for Concert Tickets
The site is custom made for smart phones (works on normal browsers too) and holds the same inventory as the main ticket sites, but allows you to browse and buy right from your phone.
Use the site to watch the ticket prices. On tickets3g.com you can click through a set of tickets and buy from a secure source right from your phone - so you can be out on the way to the event when you buy and not restricted to the your home pc and drive time.
Just note that most tickets are usually available until about 10 minutes before the event time, be quick when you spot a deal and don%26#39;t get too greedy.
