Will be in Buffalo on business this week. I am arriving a day early and am planning on seeing the falls. How long will this take? I%26#39;m assuming it won%26#39;t take an entire day. What else do you suggest to do/see with the remainder of my day?
one day in BuffaloI would suggest you repost this in the New York section, not where you did, which is the New York City forum. Buffalo is in NY state, not NY city...
one day in BuffaloSorry now I feel like an idiot - I was the one in the wrong forum. I was not impressed with the casino or the casino buffet at the Falls, but the Beef on Weck in Buffalo is something worth tracking down:

Sorry again!
You shouldn%26#39;t feel like an idiot. Your original message WAS posted on the Buffalo forum.
The confusion occurred because when someone posts a message on any city-specific board (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, New York City), it also appears on the general board for the entire state. So if someone reads the general New York State forum, where MOST of the posts are about New York City, on first glance it might look as if your Buffalo post was out of place -- but it wasn%26#39;t.
Also, I can%26#39;t tell from your follow-up message -- did you arrive in Buffalo already? Do you still need information about the Falls?
What day will you be in Buffalo? We might be able to suggest specific events you could attend. There are FREE tours of Buffalo City Hall on business days from 12:00-1:00, meet in the lobby. If you can%26#39;t make the tour, you can take yourself up to the observation deck during business hours (requires walking up several floors from the 25th floor). On a clear day you can see the mist from Niagara Falls.
In any case, if it%26#39;s a nice day/evening, I recommend a long walk up %26amp; down Elmwood Ave, also known as the Elmwood Strip or the Elmwood Village in Buffalo. I would start at Bidwell Pkwy and head south toward downtown Buffalo. There are locally owned shops and restaurants on Elmwood, and good people watching. If you see a residential side street that looks good, turn down it (particularly to the east of Elmwood, there are GREAT houses to see like on West Ferry, Lexington, or Highland.)
Or, if you prefer a walk in the park, you can walk around the lake at Delaware Park, and up Lincoln Pkwy to Soldiers Circle. I%26#39;m assuming you%26#39;ll have a map of Buffalo!
Sorry I have not responded to your any of your replies sooner. I thought I had clicked the option to notify me if anyone responded to my original post, but I was never notified any responses. I just thought no one had answered my question, and I haven%26#39;t had time to re-check the board.
Anyway, will be arriving in Buffalo late this afternoon (Wednesday). I will have this evening and most of the day Thursday to see the sights. Thanks for all your help.
Not sure if you%26#39;ll still be here (or if you%26#39;ll get this message!) but Thursday night offers a big, free rock concert at Lafayette Square downtown. It%26#39;s on Main Street and Court Street, with City Hall in the distance. Starts at 5:00pm.
