I%26#39;m part of a group of 14 going to Blue Cross Arena for a conference June 5th. Could anyone recommend aa restaurant we could walk to during our dinner break (4-7 p.m.) to cut down on driving so much during the few hours we have for dinner.
restaurant within walking distance of Blue Cross ArenaWithout hesitation I%26#39;d suggest Dinosaur Barbecue. I believe they will take a reservation for a group that size (and you will need one on a Friday night).

Other ideas -- Tony%26#39;s D%26#39;s Coal Fired Pizza, The Corn Hill Grill, Nathaniel%26#39;s Pub...
Have a great visit!
restaurant within walking distance of Blue Cross ArenaAll of the following are about a 5 minute walk south on Exchange from the Blue Cross Arena...We have always had great meals at Panzari%26#39;s, on the corner of Exchange and Plymouth and on the other side of the street from the Blue Cross Arena. I can%26#39;t find a website for it, but it%26#39;s nice, not fancy, nice wine selection, salads, wood fired pizza, and pasta. Virtu is good too - same direction, south on Exchange, but on the same side as the BCA. Fancier, and more expensive, but again, I have always had a good meal there. www.virturestaurant.com
Siam, a Thai restaurant, is right next to Virtu, but I have never eaten there. Also in the same complex (Corn Hill Landing) is another restuarant, the Corn Hill Grill, that is described as an ';upscale diner'; - I have not eaten there either. You can check out Virtu, Siam and Corn Hill Grill at http://rocwiki.org/Corn_Hill_Landing
Did Panzari%26#39;s used to be something else? I work downtown but am not familiar with this. Would like to check it out.
Just to reiterate some of what other%26#39;s have said. Dinosaur is a no-brainer. The others that immediately pop into my head are Nathanial%26#39;s and Virtu. Anything at Corn Hill Landing will be easy.
Parzari%26#39;s has been there as ';Panzari%26#39;s'; for quite a while - maybe 8 years or more. It used to be the Corn Hill (something - Cookery?) It is right next to the Corn Hill Market, where I should have also thought to mention to babyjane that they can get subs, sandwiches, salads to go. http://www.cornhillmarket.com/
Thanks to all for your suggestions. Eventhough Dino BBQ comes highly recommended the website looks a bit ';rough around the edges'; for for a group of 14 ladies (ages 40-65+yrs) who will be wanting to debrief. I%26#39;m leaning towards Nathaniels Pub which had a pretty decent menu on their website and good reviews as well, although I haven%26#39;t been able to get a menu from Panzari%26#39;s or Tony D%26#39;s which are also close. I%26#39;m hoping that I can find someplace casual but not so noisy that we can%26#39;t carry on a conversation without a megaphone! Any other suggestions are quite welcome as I will make my decision on Monday.
Hi babyjane, I have only been in Nathaniel%26#39;s twice, but both times it was loud, and quite honestly, I didn%26#39;t think it was all that clean. It%26#39;s basically a sports bar. The food wasn%26#39;t bad, I just would not choose to go there if the choice was up to me. Maybe there are others who get there more often who can speak with more authority than me!
Thanks Linyo for the info on Nathaniels, I will count that out. We%26#39;ll be having a sandwich lunch so no sandwiches for supper. On www.myrochester.com I found a listing for a Milestones on 170 East Ave. We have a chain of restaurants by that name here in Ontario, very nice, upscale casual. Would this be the same chain in Rochester? Would it be too far to walk? After sitting for hours a walk wouldn%26#39;t be a bad idea.
Babyjane - Ahhh. Now you%26#39;ve shed more light on your group. Dinosaur and Nathaniels -- loud. Not sure about Tony D%26#39;s. Cornhill Grill probably OK. The woman who owns it also owns my most favorite restaurant (Venetos http://www.venetorestaurant.com/ ) but she%26#39;s had some bad luck with that location -- so I%26#39;m not sure.
Hmmm let me think... A group of ladies...
So, now my question is, do you really have to walk? A couple of restaurants I%26#39;d recommend -- but are slightly out of (safe) walking distance -- would be Triphammers http://www.thetriphammergrill.com/ and 2 Vine http://www.2vine.com/ .
Oh -- and Milestones is gone. It was not a restaurant, it was a music bar.
