We have tickets for Wicked and I am trying to find a place for dinner close to the theater. There%26#39;s 11 in our group and so are picky eaters. NYWHIZ graciously helped out with some suggestions. Redeye Grill, Thalia or Eatery, Which would you choose?
Redeye Grill, Thalia or EateryI have only eaten at one of the listed restaurants, Redeye Grill, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I, too, took a large group and they seated us at a table in a room near the front of the restaurant. It was a very nice experience.
I have found that I never go wrong when I listen to NYWhiz! If she recommends them, you will be fine with any of them! Moms
P.S. She previously recommended Roberto Passon for a group of 12 that I took to see Wicked in February. It was excellent. We went for Brunch and loved it. It is less than 1/2 a block from the theatre.
Redeye Grill, Thalia or EateryI like Redeye Grill too, but I prefer Eatery, which is also closer to the theater. It%26#39;s a smaller place and you would need to call ahead for a reservation. Thalia is o.k., but I prefer the other two.
I second the Red Eye Grill. Whenever I am in that neiborhood, that%26#39;s where I go.
I%26#39;ve never eten at Thalia or Eatery, but I do think the food and service at Redeye Grill is very good.
I spend a lot of time and lunch money at Thalia%26#39;s take out space around the corner from the restaurant and the food is good and fresh. Have only eaten at the restaurant once for lunch so not sure how they handle a group
My personal recommendation would be Redeye Grill as it%26#39;s a much larger space than Eatery and has a more varied crowd in it%26#39;s space. Reserve a table. The dancing shrimp are great.
Eatery, while nice is a much smaller space with little tables and can get crowded - the atmosphere is trendier compared to Eatery.
Thalia in my opinion is not recommended.
I went to Eatery on our last trip in May 2008, and really enjoyed it. We got right in with no wait (3 people), and the service and food were both very good.
