Williamsburg bridge to Brooklyn bridge

We are coming to New York next week,I%26#39;m planning a loose itinery and would on sat 6/6 like to walk across williamsburg bridge -visit the craft market that%26#39;s on and then head down towards brooklyn bridge.

Can any %26#39;locals%26#39; please suggest a route that would take in %26#39;a flavour of Brooklyn%26#39; including refreshment stops.

We are a family of 4- mum, dad %26amp; 2 daughters 22/19

Williamsburg bridge to Brooklyn bridge

You can do it on the B61 bus from Bedford Avenue. It will let you off at Gold and York Street in DUMBO. From there it wlll be easy to find the Brooklyn Bridge. Here is a map to show you how.

As for where to eat, there are lots of places in Williamsburg, depending on the type of food that your family likes. If you wait till DUMBO, there are Almondine, Jacques Torres, Superfine, Grimaldis, Petes Downtown and others.

It is not an especially scenic walk from Williamburg to the Brooklyn Bridge. While Hasidic South Williamsburg is an interesting neighborhood to visit, the area connecting the two different neighborhoods is mostly industrial. You also have to walk around the Navy Yard.

Frankly, your best bet is not to walk it, but to take the subway back into Manhattan and then back out to Brooklyn Heights. I would take any train from Marcy Avenue heading into Manhattan to Fulton Street, and I would change there for the A or C to High Street.
