June 6-9

Hello,

I%26#39;m coming to Albany with some friends for the weekend, and to see Eddie Vedder on Monday night at The Palace.

What%26#39;s there to do on Saturday-Sunday?

Any good pubs or bars that you%26#39;d recommend?

Any recommended hotels?

We%26#39;d most likely be staying somewhere close to The Palace.

Thanks.

Albany%26#39;s entertainment corridor is from the Palace Theater to the Times Union Center. There are a bunch of bars and restaurants, with just about something for everyone. I recommend a couple, but I%26#39;m not sure what you are looking for:

McGeary%26#39;s

4 Clinton Square

Albany, New York 12207

(518)-463-1455

Victory Cafe

10 Sheridan Ave

Albany, NY 12207

(518) 463-9113

These are very much pubs good for a burger and a beer.

If you head uptown just a bit to Lark Street there are also some good spots. Saturday June 6 from 10a-5p is Art on Lark; and it is not just art, there will be stages set out and bands playing.

There is a new place on Broadway I haven%26#39;t been to yet but some friends have been going and like it.

since you%26#39;ll be down there, check out the Miss ALbany Diner for bkfst.

The Hampton Inn and Suites in downtown is very close to the Palace and recommended. 74 State is another good choice; it%26#39;s about a 5-10 minute walk. There%26#39;s also a Crowne Plaza in downtown, but I don%26#39;t recommend it.

The Hampton Inn and Suites is a nice hotel and is in easy walking distance to the Palace and downtown Albany bars.

My husband and I have been to Wolfs Biergarten and it is a fun place. They have darts! A little bit of a walk but not too bad.

Straight down towards the river from the Palace is a great place for food and beer - Albany Pump Station. I would consider it more of a restaurant than a bar. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends but it is so huge it isn%26#39;t a big deal. This link shows the site from up above. The top floor tables are for private functions only but this is the only site I could find with a good picture of the place.

Don%26#39;t know where you are coming from or what you are looking for exactly but there is also Jillian%26#39;s further down Pearl Street into Albany. It is definitely a younger crowd but it can be fun to go and play some games while drinking your beers!

Hello everyone!

Thank you so much for the replies and information.

I%26#39;m coming from Ottawa, Ontario, and will be with a small group of guys.

The pubs are generally what we are looking for - a decent place with a good selection of beers and good food.

We%26#39;ll be sure to check out Jillians for the pre-show.

Thanks!

Monty
