which airport, less hassle to get to Hotel Beacon in Manhatt

We want to stay at the Hotel Beacon in Manhattan for a 3 or 4 night stay. Which airport would provide a more hassle-free transport to such - LaGuardia or JFK? Trains or buses or taxi? I know we will have to study a MTA NYC transit map but right now we are in the preliminary stages of planning our trip and wanted some basic advice about the best airport to fly into. Coming from a place that unfortunately has zero mass transit, this will be quite an experience!

If you plan on travelling from the airport you use by taxi, it is much less trouble to go to LGA, because it is closer in; the travel time will be less and so will the fare. If you plan on travelling from the airport you use by public transportation, it is much less trouble to go to JFK, because unlike LGA -- which is not served by trains -- JFK has the AirTrain right there, which connects easily to the subway and the Long Island Rail Road.

Thank you. I did notice that LaGuardia looked closer too but read that the lines for taxis can be a headache. Much will hinge on arrival times also. I%26#39;ll probably have more questions later.

Just FYI, the price of a taxi ride from/to JFK and anywhere in Manhattan is not metered; it%26#39;s a flat $45; with tip and tolls, figure about $60.

It鈥檚 really all about the same and I generally choose a flight based on price and schedule. It鈥檚 silly to debate the slight difference between ground transportation when the differences between flight schedules and prices are likely to be so much more pronounced.

As well as considering LGA and JFK I鈥檇 price out Newark too 鈥?they have an AirTrain that brings you in to Penn Station that鈥檚 very quick and convenient no matter what time of day you鈥檙e traveling.
