A wait for a taxi at Newark?

Four adults arriving at noon next Thursday into Newark. Going to the Marriott Marquis. We may need a minivan because of excess luggage. Are minivan taxis readily available at the taxi stand? Are we better off to just go with a car service? (we do want door-to-door service so I%26#39;m debating between taxi versus car service.) Thanks

I strongly prefer to avoid Newark cabs. They%26#39;re not part of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission and there have been some complaints.

From Newark, I prefer prearranging a sedan (or van) through All State. www.allstatelimo.com - 1 212 333 3333

Alternatively, Dial 7, www.dial7.com - 1 212 777 7777

At JFK and LaGuardia you can get New York City cabs. Not at Newark.

I take cabs from Newark all the time and never have any problem. But, because you need a van you probably want to pre-reserve a car service. I%26#39;ve never seen a van on the cab line at Newark - they%26#39;re always traditional 4/5 seat type cabs

Take the train. Here is the link to New Jersey Transit.

Skip the cab. Take the train if cost is an issue or make a reservation for a NYC based private car.

Does NJ Transit do door to door service?

I would Pre- book a car service for a headache free arrival.

We arrived at newark airport last August 4 adults and five large suitcases. We waited in the normal taxi rank and the controller called a mini van for us, we just had to wait approx 5 mins longer but no problem and plenty of room.We were not the only ones waiting and it seemed to be an every day occurance.
