Only one full day in NY : (

We are coming into NY 2 days before taking a cruise from the NY terminal to Canada. We will only have one day and 1/2 and two nights in NY. I know it%26#39;s not much time but I%26#39;m happy to spend even a day in NY. I would like to stay in a hotel that is not too expensive - about $150 - $180 a night for 2 doubles and that is located near midtown in an area where we can find some nice casual, inexpensive places to eat and can walk to some attractions.

I have read many posts and notated some hotels that are running specials - would you please give me your views on which would be the best choice..

Have you put your dates into a hotel search engine or checked the specials on travelzoo.com? Your question is impossible to answer without knowing when this trip is taking place, as rates fluctuate greatly depending on the date.

Anything near Times Sq within your budget will be a good base to explore the city in such a short time. So you are looking for hotels in Midtown.

Embassy Suites Hotel New York will not be a good location for you. It%26#39;s way downtown, there is nothing to do at night and transportation is not the easiest. Try Tripadvisor%26#39;s search engine, it works.

With the recession, there are many hotel deals.
