Transport JFK - Greenwich Village

I know this question has been answered a million times...but I just don%26#39;t have the time to go looking for it (is there are quick way to do searches?).... how much are the collective taxis, per person, from JFK into the village - 14th Street between 6th and 7th.

Thank you for your patience on this...

Yellow Cab - $45.00 plus tip/toll - $60.00!!

NYC taxi prices are per car, not per person. The price from JFK to anyplace in manhattan is $45+tip+toll (~$60 total).

When you say ';collective taxis'; are you refering to the aiport shuttle vans, like SuperShuttls? If so they run about $20 per person. (no saving if there are 3 of you, cost more if there are 4). If you are asking about the new thing with taxis where you can ride share, prices have not been set yet.

The shared shuttle is the closest thing to a collectivo, but here you could spend hours driving around from hotel to hotel.... They dont have routes like the collectivos on 307 or the peseros in DF, for example. They also sit at the airport until they fill up. And, you never want to take the shared shuttles back to the airport!

If you want the most economical way - and dont have a lot of luggage - we have a great mass transit service from the airport. You take Airtrain from JFK to the Jamaica (subway) station - then connect to the E train *direction of downtown/World Trade Center* to 14th Street. When you get out at 14th you%26#39;ll be on 8th Ave. You can also transfer from the E to the F 1 or 2 stops after you get on at Jamaica for the F train, which will bring you to 14th and 6th. (Rather than complicate things - you may want to walk the 1 block above ground).

By the way, I dont know if you know, but there is a Virgin of Guadelupe church on West 14th with all sorts of Mexican food trucks out front on Sunday (and an OK taco cart all week)....

A concur with Al; the phrase ';collective taxi'; doesn%26#39;t have an obvious meaning for New Yorkers. If you mean shuttles, they tend to give bad service; you would be better off taking an express bus into Manhattan, and then a taxi to your destination. As noted, taxi rides in New York are per journey, not per passenger, and taxis hold either 4 or 5 adult passengers depending on the design.

Thank you all. And yes, shuttle is the word I was looking for---not collective.
