I'm Back!

Haven%26#39;t posted on here in a while, but have been having a crazy time (unfortunately, not travel related other than a brief jaunt to SF Bay area).

Also, I had to get around to writing four new hotel reviews from my last big trip! Check %26#39;em out!

I%26#39;ll be back here more often for the summer to add to our usual wonderful chatter and advice!

I'm Back!

Just read your Kiev hotel review with interest. A friend of mine just came back from there (went to find himself a Russian bride - yea yea I know, he%26#39;s nutty).

He loved the city and stayed across the street from Independance Square in an apartment he rented.

I remember when he was planning his stay, he asked me for help and it was really hard to do. The Kiev forum is full of first time posters, extolling the virtues of apartment rental places.

I was nervous for him. Anyways the trip turned out fine and I%26#39;m glad someone ';legit'; has finally posted some info on TA. Thanks!

Mom -- ah! Wish I had known, I would have loved to offer advice. I was pretty lucky, because my Mom had lived there for a year before, and I had a few business contacts to fall back on for more up-to-date advice. The tourist infrastructure there definitely is still in the development phase, particularly for english speakers!

your friend should DEFINITELY go to Lviv next time he%26#39;s in that part of the world (or anywhere in central europe... a few direct flights from Vienna, Budapest, Krakow). Not only a real hidden gem, but also they have much better traveler resources -- or at least fewer to choose from, and so easier to get good ones!
