Planning on making a quick trip into NYC to see the Yankees and Mets (6/18 and 19). Have a few ?%26#39;s.
1) Will a cheap ticket give you access to the main parts of the stadiums? Really going to see the stadiums more than the games. Some stadiums block access to certain areas with certain tickets.
2) Get there(JFK) on a red eye at 8:00 am. Plan on taking a bus into Penn Station (hotel near there). Can we catch the subway to Yankee stadium from there or need to go to Grand Central?
3) What time do we need to catch the #7 to Citi Field to avoid the Friday night rush?
4) Are the restaurants where you can watch the games from any good? Thank you for the help!!
Yankee/Mets game questions1) I think so, yes.
2) There are no buses to Penn station. There are trains to Penn station (Airtrain/subway %26amp;7/person or Airtrain/Long Island Railroad ~$10/person) OR a bus to Port Authority bus terminal. You can catch a subway to Yankee stadium from either Penn station, Port Authority or Grand Central but what do you plan on doing with your suitcases??
3)Rush hour on a summer Fri. starts as early as 3-4 pm and runs til about 6. If the game is at 8, you%26#39;d be better leaving around 7.
4)Haven%26#39;t been to the new stadiums so can%26#39;t answer but there%26#39;s sure to be a forum someone online with reviews and details of all the new restaurants at both stadiums.
Yankee/Mets game questionsActually, I now remember bleacher seats at Yankee stadium don%26#39;t get you into any other area of the park. This might be a good read/website for you.

...and I should add, you can also get an Express bus to Grand Central terminal from JFK and also hop a subway from there. Here%26#39;s a subway map and you%26#39;ll see the 4 train runs on the east side and the b %26amp; D from the west side.

There are restrictions to walking around and especially to the better seats.
Very unsportsmanlike and discriminatory in my opinion. This is a major change from the old Stadium, and similar to what is in Arthur Ashe Stadium. I wonder how he would feel about a stadium named after him that restricts movement.
You can get to the Stadium with #4 or D Line.
Here is some subway info for you. Have a great time !!

NYWhiz/Urban NYC Thanks for the information.
1) I remember the first time going to Yankee Stadium and getting bleacher seats to a sold out game. We were not able to go into the main section. Being from CA it took another five years to finally walk thru the main gates. Seeing the field from behind home plate was like walking into baseball heaven. Nywhiz thanks for the ESPN link. I see our ballpark(ATT- Giants) ranks number one. Believe it or not, I have been to Yankee Stadium more in the last five years than ATT and I have season tickets-go figure.
2) Will take the Airtran/LIR. Will drop lugguage at the hotel.
3) How long will the #7 take to Citi Field from Times Square?
Thank you for the help!
Pscsb,
Figure 45 minutes from Times Square to Citifield with # 7. Caught my only ball in Candlestick a number of years ago !!! Go figure !!! Have Fun !!!!
