Hi all--I have posted this question before but still looking for an answer. I want to see Hair when I come to NYC June 21-24. I heard that you should never pay full price for tickets, but I have been watching BroadwayBox for a month and no discounts are offered yet that far out. Does anyone have a feeling if this one will be discounted or should I just bite the bullet and buy them at full price? I don%26#39;t know if this show would sell out and I would be out of luck! Thank you in advance!
Getting nervous..any theatre ticket experts out there?
'; I heard that you should never pay full price for tickets';,
This may not be correct for very popular productions.

Hair has been gaining in audience since it opened. 96% of the seats for last week%26#39;s performances were sold, although I think it%26#39;s safe to say the current discount offers, which expire June 14, helped drive a lot of those sales.
My suggestion would be to wait until to see if discount offers appear that cover the time of your visit. If June 14th comes with no new discounts, hop online and purchase regular seats. I find it hard to believe that even as of 6/14, you won%26#39;t be able to get decent seats for the 21-24.
In general, Cockle is correct but bear in mind that the Tony awards are on june 7, and it is likely Hair will win best revival. if that is the case, available tickets may disappear. it%26#39;s obviously a gamble and i don%26#39;t like to make strong predictions since i don%26#39;t know how disappointed you will be if there are no seats, or no decent seats. also, i think it is somewhat unlikely that discounts will be forthcoming in the immediate future.
If it were me and it was a must do...I would bite the bullet and get the seats now....or another way to look at it is to say to yourself what would make you more upset...getting the tickets now and you see them for less later or waiting and not being able to get the tickets at all....
I get the TKTS newsletter and it is occasionally listed on there as one of the shows for sale...
Last week, the TKTS booth at the South Street Seaport did have tickets for HAIR. But, one doesn%26#39;t know which performances will, or will not, have discount seats. As my crystal ball is in the shop, there is no what of knowing what will be at the end of the month. Good Luck.
While mostly correct, you can often get discounts for theater tix, there are some shows that you will have to pay full price for. Wicked, for example, has not had any discount tix available since it opened (there were discounts durring it%26#39;s previews).
Hair might get to that point after the tony%26#39;s. If you really want to see the show (and it is GREAT!!!) then check for june disconts late may. If it wins the tony (on June 7) than tix might go fast, but I think West Side Story will give it a run for it%26#39;s money.
Thank you all so much! I think I will buy the tickets now---I am sure it will be worth it!
