US Open 2009 tickets

Hi - We are coming to NYC in September and thought is would be fun to see one of the US Open tennis matches. Does anyone know if tickets for the US Open are available on the day of event at the box office? If not there, would there be a possibility of buying a ticket from someone at the gate wanting to sell theirs? Would these be full price or inflated scalper prices? Thanks for any info.

It is illegal to buy tickets from anyone other than the box office within 1500%26#39; of Flushing Meadow stadium.

US Open 2009 tickets

I have been attending the Open for a long time. The last few years the first week has sold out many days. You can call the number for Ticketmaster at 1-866-OPEN-TIX the morning or night before you wish to attend and pick up the tickets at the box office on your way into the tennis center. If you try to go that morning, you may risk the chance of the day being sold out and long lines. You can also order via ticketmaster and they will mail the tickets to you. I met someone last year who drove from Maryland thinking they would buy the tickets that morning and the day session was sold out. I would definately try to get them in advance if you really wish to go and buying from those on the boardwalk is not smart as they may not even be legit tickets. Good Luck and it%26#39;s a fun tournament to attend if you have the opportunity.

If you%26#39;re an American Express cardholder, tomorrow is day 1 of pre-sales through Ticketmaster. We%26#39;ll be buying day passes tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who replied. I was able to obtain some of the AmEx pre-sale tickets online.

How much are the tickets, the website doesn%26#39;t say? for the first week..thanks

The tickets vary depending upon what you want be it ground passes versus Ashe Stadium tickets versus Louis Armstrong Reserved seats. If you go to purchase tickets and go to the part on the ticketmaster site where you input how many tickets you want, you%26#39;ll see the ticket prices.

Also, for future reference, for those who are USTA members, they have an earlier ticket pre-sale in April.

It didn%26#39;t seem that ALL tickets were available on the AMEX site - only those in the nose bleed sections. However, we were able to get the Buy one Get One tix which totalled $68 for both, including all the convenience (whose?), delivery, and order processing fees. If it isn%26#39;t too crowded, we are hoping to be able to move to better seats, it that is allowed or not too closely monitored. Now I just need to remember to bring the binocs!

They%26#39;re usually pretty strict about seating at Ashe, although I%26#39;ve heard of people being able to move up. Usually, it%26#39;s pretty crowded, also depending on how much later it is in the tournament (when it%26#39;s later, there are fewer matches on the outer courts and thusly, people are more likely to show up to Ashe Stadium - and there will likely be better matches in Ashe). Personally, for the 2nd half of the tournament, I like to get Armstrong reserved seats - this guarantees seats in Armstrong AND you can come and go as you please (unlike for those who only have grounds passes).

danniny - thanks for the helpful info. The only tix available were for Ashe since we will be there on Thursday Sept 9th. They aren%26#39;t any grounds tickets during the second week and it didn%26#39;t appear that there were any other matches on Armstrong. Do you happen to know if the upper level seats (Promenade level) in Ashe have backs or are they just benches? hoping for backs...
