traffic to JFK

Hello,

We will be driving to JFK from Philadelphia on a Sunday at about 1:00 PM, and our international flight leaves at 5:45 PM. Mapquest puts the drive at 2 hours 15 minutes. Does this sound accurate? I%26#39;m especially curious/anxious about the traffic once we hit NY. We%26#39;re on a tight schedule, Thanks!

You will be cutting it close! Sunday afternoons coming from the south means you will be in with everyone coming back from their weekends at the Jersey shore. Expect Staten Island and the Belt Parkway to take forever. I would try to leave earlier. Even if you just left at noon, that would put you in the city before the traffic got real bad.
