Law & Order filming locations ?

Howdy -

we%26#39;re heading to NYC Thurs 09/21 and would like to see a few of the popular filming locations for Law %26amp; Order. We tried to find a tour, similar to a Sxx and the City or Seinfeld tour, but we couldn%26#39;t find such a thing.

Anyone have a list of the popular sites used in filming?

I don%26#39;t have specifics, but I work downtown and always see them filming. Look for large trailers and bars open and all lit up at 9:30 AM.

Walk around City Hall, the courthouses on Centre Street, and any of the bars on Murray Street, Reade Street, Lipsenard Street, etc.

Law %26amp; Order filming locations ?

Hi. Much to my chagrin when it makes parking a bit of a pain, Law and Order is often filmed in Riverdale, in Da Bronx. It goes in waves though, and I haven%26#39;t seen them in a few weeks. I%26#39;ll look around today though, so keep your fingers crossed. Cheers.

The courtroom shown in the series, although it is a set, is very clearly based on Room 300 in the NY County Court House at 60 Centre Street (at Foley Square.)

They were filming just the other day in Police Plaza, right outside the doors of HQ, behind the Municipal Building.

We get in Thurs at noon, so we might spend an hour or so on Sat or Sun a.m. snapping a pic or two at these locations.

Hi. No luck near me unfortunately. You could check out this site at the end here. If you%26#39;ll be near some of these places you could ask there which episodes were filmed there. The producers are quite innovative in disquising places though. For instance in season six they filmed an episode about black market body part dealing where I worked. I had to help them with a couple of things. They rigged up a little cafe to look like a Greek diner and also a nondescript railing to look like a subway entrance. If I hadn%26#39;t known about the filming ahead of time, I wouldn%26#39;t even have recognized the two areas. This is a mayor%26#39;s office site that was reduced at tiny url. Yes, you can actually contact the Mayor%26#39;s office on Filming and they have the schedule. Mayor Bloomberg has actually appeared in two episodes so far and is a huge fan of the show. Who is your favorite character? Mine is Lupo.

When are you going or have you been there and are going back? You can also find the actor%26#39;s that portray the DA%26#39;s on the various Law and Orders on the steps of the actual court house in downtown and can even walk yourself into an episode. I have actually been in two episodes with Jack and Adam/

I tried to look up the mayors office on filming in NYC and the website would not come up. was it shut down? and if it is, can we still hit the mayor%26#39;s office once in the city? also, does anybody know if there is filming going on in November? I have seen some scenes in earlier Law and Orders where it was snowing but not lately.

You never know where Law and Order will pop up. They must have a remarkble location scout. Several years ago, I was walking in my Park Slope neighborhood when I passed the subway stop at the intersection of Union and 6th. Wait a minute, there isn%26#39;t a subway stop there.

Law and Order had erected all the street furniture to make it look like there was a subway stop where there actually wasn%26#39;t. Although I%26#39;ve lived in the area for many years, it did give me a double take.

I often see them filming around Foley Square. I also see Ugly Betty filming at the Woolworth Building - the front of which is given a sign that says Meade Corp. They%26#39;ve also filmed up my block in Park Slope.

There is so much filming in the City, that you just may run into it.

hate to keep bringing back this old post....but one quick question.....is there any filming done in the summer?

does anybody know if and where they do filming of the CI series?
