Ok I have a more concrete plan now, we managed to get john stewart, jimmy fallon and federal reserve tour tickets. And I found the Museum Mile Event would be happenind the day we arrive, so I thought it would be a great intro to the city. I shuffled things around a bit, so hopefully we aren%26#39;t cramming too much in.
Tuesday June 9
Arrive 3:25 LGA
Hotel Fitzpatrick 4:30? via the bus/subway option (we will be brave)
Museum Mile Event 6-9pm
Dinner (Grand Central or near the museums)?
Anything else recommended on the way back to the hotel (FAO Schwartz??) Or time square? We do need to grab some water, bagels and cream cheese for the hotel room.
Back to Hotel
Wed June 10
Financial District: Wall Street, Trinity Church, WTC, possibly walking tour found here
galttech.com/research/travel/downtown-manhat…
Federal Reserve Tour 9:30
Chinatown
Katz Deli (lunch)
Staten Island Ferry
Rockefeller area
Jimmy Fallon Arrive by 4:15, show 5:30-6:30
Dinner at Ted’s Montana Burger (have free burger coupons)
TOTR 8:00-9:00 (should see daylight and night lights?)
Explore more Rockefeller Center, if still open or Time Square?
Thurs June 11
AMONH
Lunch at Gray%26#39;s Papayas?
Central Park
We plan on doing spending the morning at one and afternoon at the other. I am not sure if the museum would be better earlier or later?
Dinner... Chinese maybe somewhere cheap :-)
John Stewart Tickets
Evening: Explore Grand Central, walk towards Bryant park, library and times square?
Friday
Morning is open: Maybe Greenwich Village/Washington Square or other “area” we haven’t seen yet.
Brooklyn Bridge
Pizza in Brooklyn
Afternoon open… Maybe attempt Coney Island? Nathans Hotdog? Visit FIL’s old neighborhood
Dinner
Rock of Ages 8pm. I have been getting the TKTS email for the non-Times Square locations, and they seem to have Rock of Ages tix most days. I am not sure about which TKTS location would be best and if you can ';pick'; your seats at all.
Saturday
Is there a White Castle anywhere between LGA or on the way towards the Catskills?
Any adjustments or thoughts on it are greatly appreciated.
Itinerary check again. ThanksJust a couple of comments:
You don%26#39;t want to bounce up to Chinatown %26amp; Katz%26#39;s and then go back to the very tip of Manhattan to get on the Ferry. Either ride the Ferry very first thing in the AM [be on a board a boat that leaves Manhattan no later than 8 AM] or do it right after your Federal Reserve tour %26amp; then take the M15 bus -- stop is across the street from SI Ferry terminal%26#39;s doors on the far-right side as you come down the escalator) -- up Chinatown and/or the Lower East Side.
I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll have time to cram in an early supper before you need to be in line for the Daily Show. They issue more tickets than seats in the theatre and seating is ';first come, first served';; my son got in line at 3:45 and he was not among the very first ones there.
Itinerary check again. ThanksThanks for the tips CC, I have moved the state island ferry and we will eat after John Stewart!
Our trip is a week from tomorrow, so we are getting pretty excited!! I need to start thinking about packing and getting using hopstop to get directions for our itinerary!
Just a note it%26#39;s Times Square and now w/o traffic, somewhat weird!
Thanks, I tried to clean up my itinerary after quickly typing it up, but skimming through it I completely overlooked things like that.
It will be an interesting sight without the traffic, of course we have nothing to compare it to since this is our 1st trip to NYC.
