Hi- for all of you thinking of coming to Brooklyn - here%26#39;s an idea for a great day out.
Take the train from Manhattan to Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn (the 2 or 3 will do the trick) on a Saturday morning and visit the Green Market (sort of like a farmer%26#39;s market)(http://www.cenyc.org/greenmarket ) -
Once there you will find dozens of vendors selling things like artisanal cheeses %26amp; bread, along with fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and great New York State wines from the Finger Lakes area of upstate New York.
You could buy a bottle of wine, a baguette, some cheese, and fruit along with a few sweet things and walk into Prospect Park and have a picnic.
When your through you could then walk to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden or the Brooklyn Museum to finish out your day.
I guarantee it will hard to find a better day trip than this one.
Great Idea for Day Trip to Brooklyn
Hi Livetotravel, I will certainly visit Brooklyn when I visit NYC at the end of June. I will be taking the A or C train as I am staying on 81st and CPW. What stop should I get off that is closest to Fulton Ferry state park? I really want to take some pics of manhatten from there, then I will check out Brooklyn heights,
Thanks in advance for any advise

Great Idea for Day Trip to Brooklyn
Hi Vonny - take the ';A'; train to High Street in Brooklyn - you can then walk along Cadman Plaza East/Washington Street to Water Street, turn left and head for Fulton Ferry. See map...

Bet you know already that there you will find the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory - nymag.com/listings/…
And after you eat that, you can walk across the Brooklyn bridge.
Hi livetotravel, thanks for the directions and advise. Ice cream? what ice cream? ha ha, you bet its on my list!
Thanks again
Vonny
