We had just found out the Six Flags isn%26#39;t too far from NYC, and we%26#39;re coaster junkies and must go. We%26#39;re come 29 Aug - 5 Sept for our 2nd trip, and will go on a weekday.
I have read a few past threads, and the NJ Transit Bus 308 seems to be the best way to get there -- How long does this bus journey take? As it leaves at 9:30am, does that get you there for the 10:30 opening?
Also I don%26#39;t understand is the $53 for the bus -- one way or round trip?
Here%26#39;s the link, I found but it just seems to confuse me more www.njtransit.com/summer/greatadventure.htm
Has anyone been before?...the reviews seem very mixed
Also the $53 includes the bus fare and park entrance. After that can you add the express lines pass on it?
Any advice...much appreciated
Day Trip To Six Flags Great Adventure
6 flags is worth the visit. I would go on a rainey day with less crowds. The bus with no traffic gets you there at 11:20. But $53 does seem a little high. You can call New Jersey Transit at (973)275-5555. Here is the website as well.

Day Trip To Six Flags Great Adventure
Thanks, I though the $53 seems OK as it includes Park Admission too, do you know if the $53 is one way or a round trip back to NYC?
I hope that you like standing on lines. The time that I went, we waited on line for well over an hour just to get into the Park. We never actually enterred as it was just as crowded inside as out. We hopped back in the car and went home.
I hope that you have a better experience. Remember to ride the Cyclone in Brooklyn. It%26#39;s a great wooden coaster that will rattle your fillings.
Round trip. Make sure coming back that you board the bus that says New York on it, as there are buses to Philly and Freehold as well.
Don%26#39;t worry, we%26#39;re going to Coney Island and riding the Cyclone, we might even catch the Cyclones play!
hmmm.......I don%26#39;t know what to do..I want to go, but not all that way, if there is major queues. Does anybody have any ideas of what the queues times will be like -- Is there a website with estimated times anywhere?
I don%26#39;t like either that the bus doesn%26#39;t get you there until about 11:30am, I find it always best to get to parks at opening to get more rides done. I had a look at renting a car to drive down ourselves (there%26#39;s 3 of us), from Newport Mall, Jersey City, (the Manhattan branches are all closed for the return times I enter) which is roughly $65. How is the drive from Jersey City to Jackson?
What to do...what to do! :/
Not bad at all. You will go on the New Jersey Turnpike the whole way until exit 7A for I195. Take I 195 east to exit 16A. Just remember we drive on the right side of the road here.
