We have booked to go to Washinghton DC, from New York, with Megabus, has anyone travelled with them lately? Was there any problems?

I%26#39;m not a huge fan of Megabus, mostly because I find Bolt more reliable.

What is the fare for the bus to D.C.?

I had an excellent experience traveling with Megabus in mid-March. I did a lot of %26#39;net research prior to booking and Bolt wasn%26#39;t faring better in reviews than Megabus; the bus experience is generally more of a craps shoot than Amtrak because of the greater potential for delays owing to highway congestion, e.g., where the New Jersey Turnpike narrows down to 2 lanes in each direction; the usual bottleneck at the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and there is now a huge road construction project outside of Baltimore.

BUT, you want to *avoid* booking one of the Eastern buses that show up on Megabolt%26#39;s website, as indicated by a red bus logo on the timetables. It%26#39;s a so-called ';Chinatown bus'; company and its buses are older and inferior to those Megabus owns.

We paid $68.50 for 4 people.

I hope we have done the right thing, I%26#39;m pretty sure we are not on Eastern.

I%26#39;ve taken Megabus a bunch of times from NYC to Boston and have been very satisfied. Love the pickup location in NYC. Very helpful staff. Very pleased with the drivers... no complaints here.

We travelled to Washington from NYC Penn Station and were very happy with everything. Nice clean comfortable bus,excellent driver. Very cheap trip to Washington DC.
