4 or D train to the Yankee Stadium

What is the difference in each to the stadium. I rembember reading that one is above ground and you can see all the scenery, is that correct?

4 or D train to the Yankee Stadium

Not quite.

The two follow entirely different routes, and serve different parts of the city. The two routes happen to cross at Yankee Stadium. The D is underground in Manhattan and the Bronx. The #4 is underground in Manhattan, and also underground for its first stations in the Bronx; it goes onto an elevated structure only shortly before Yankee Stadium.

A look at a subway map would help.

Do either the 4 or D train have an express from N.Y to the stadium?

All subway info for NYC !!

';Do either the 4 or D train have an express from N.Y to the stadium?';

I am not sure what this question is suspposed to mean.

1) Yankee Stadium, like everything in the borough of the Bronx, is in New York City

2) No subway line ever crosses the New York City line. All lines operate only within New YOrk City, and all of the 468 subway stations are inside New York City.

3) All subway lines, by their nature, are either express or local lines. The 4 and the D happen to be express lines

4) Even though the 4 and the D are always express, that doesn%26#39;t mean they don%26#39;t stop anywhere besides Yankee Stadium. The 4 stops at the usual express stops for the 4, and the D stops at the usual express stop for the D, all the time; the stops don%26#39;t change.

I had already suggested looking at a subway map. It would still be a very good idea...

Both lines are ';express'; lines making fewer stops than other lines but I think the 4 train makes fewer stops between say 42 st. (Grand Central) and the stadium. The D services the west side while the 4 services the east side. It really depends on where you%26#39;re starting from. If you put your start point in on

it will tell you which is more convenient.

Take whichever line is closest to you. Both are express. This does not mean they don%26#39;t make any stops, they just make fewer of them.

The 4 train pops out of the ground just shortly before Yankee Stadium. If you stand on the let side of the train, you can even get a peak inside the old Stadium as the train rumbles by. But, as you get out at this stop, you are above ground for about 15 seconds total.

If you are going to the game and do not want food a ridiculous prices, check out the sorta Kosher Deli on the corner of 161st Street and Walton Avenue right next door to the Courthouse. Great hot dogs, great fries and great milkshakes, at about a quarter of the price you%26#39;d pay inside the stadium. If you get to the area early, you can stop by the Press Cafe for a beer or some good food as well:

GO YANKEES

Thank you Brooklyn Mel, my husband is a huge Yankee fan. He has not been to the stadium since we left New york 12 years ago. He is excited to see the new stadium. We hope to do all of our favorite things while we are in N.Y. in July. He has the YES channel so the Yankees are on almost every day here. Thanks for the info.
