1st Time in New York

My boyfriend and I are driving from Florida to Maine. On the way, we are planning to spend a day at the Bronx Zoo. We want to be there the night before to get an early start.

Just wondering if there is anything we should know and/or look out for? Any insider zoo tips, traffic worries or anywhere we should avoid when looking for a hotel. Anything!

I assume you realize the drive from Fl. to Maine is long and far???? As for the zoo, what you need to know is there are NO good hotels near it or in the Bronx at all, so you should stay either in Manhattan (maybe the upper west side in the Newton hotel) but you%26#39;ll need a garage for the car or perhaps in nearby New Jersey like the Holiday Inn in Ft. Lee.

Haha, yes, we realize the drive is long. He moved down here from Maine and has done the drive before. That%26#39;s why we are stopping at the zoos to break it up soom.

Thanks for the info. Most of the hotels we looked at are in Ft Lee. I will repost in the other forum as well.
