any recommendations for a hotel in times square or near central park that has a spa?
hotel with spa
what%26#39;s your price range and dates?
I know that the NY Palace has a Spa but isnt quite in Times Square or Central Park
hotel with spa
The hotels with in house spas tend to be of the 4-5* variety (pricey) and not in Times Square. Near Central Park:
Trump International
Ritz Carlton Central Park
Mandarin Oriental
Peninsula
all have spas. One of the more affordable hotels with spa is the Affinia Dumont, but not in the locations you mention. You should know there are loads of day spas and you can use a spa at a hotel even if you%26#39;re not staying there. Frequent poster cricri7 often stays at 6 Columbus right near Central Park and recently posted about a great experience using the spa at the Peninsula hotel.
If you%26#39;re looking for price over convenience, I%26#39;d look at Oasis, Bliss or other free-standing spa facilities. (Try typing ';spa'; or ';massage'; in the forum search box for previous recos.)
I find that hotel amenities - whether they be internet service, phone charges, breakfasts, drinks or spa services - are usually overpriced.
My massage at the Peninsula hotel was the best ever! Since their steam room was not functional, I had access to the pool while there was a snow storm in the city. Looking at the storm from the 22nd floor while lying near the swimming pool was quite enjoyable! The prices at the Peninsula spa seem to be a bit less expensive than the Mandarin Oriental but the view must not be as good. I looked at the prices just yesterday because I will be going back at the beginning of July and wanted to pamper myself with a massage or a pedicure at one of those 2 spas. Like the other posters said, those hotels are quite expensive and their spas are also. Even if the spa at the Peninsula was a bit expensive (195$ for a one hour massage, though you could enjoy many other things there), the staff was down to earth, courteous and professional. They were not the least snobbish. It is not always the case with high end venues.
';Even if the spa at the Peninsula was a bit expensive (195$ for a one hour massage...';
I got tension knots in my shoulders just reading that. Oy!
Not close to TS or CP, but a hotel with spa:

thanks all for the input i will check out those options, the idea of just heading to the spa from you room is nice but maybe a free standing would offer better prices and more options. going to central park june 12th to see josh ritter, can%26#39;t wait!
The Benjamin -- one of the well-regarded Affinia hotels -- has an Affinia Wellness spa on premises; they offer in-room massages as well. Plus, there is a free-standing Bliss spa just steps away from the hotel. [I%26#39;m not seeing any reviews in the past year or so which comment on the spa, and although I%26#39;ve stayed at the Benjamin, I didn%26#39;t avail of its services so can%26#39;t give you a first-hand opinion].

Don%26#39;t know the dates of your visit, but there have been some nice prices for the Benjamin on hotels.com and Quikbook.
