I will be visiting NYC with my mom in a couple weeks and we really wanted to take a look at the Plaza Hotel but will not be staying there. I know they have free tours and I%26#39;m going to look into that, but will they mind if we just walk through the lobby?

Probably not. The better dressed you are, the easier it is. When it was solely a hotel it was relatively easy to walk into the lobby areas. Not that it%26#39;s also where people live, they may be more security conscious and that may be why they started the tours.

Walk in like you own the joint. Walk around and look at Palm Court smack in the middle, then go see the Oak Room and Oak Bar.

No one will bother you at all.
