My daughters want to go to the following stores on our trip to NYC:
American Girl Place(i%26#39;m very aware this is open)
FAO(open of course)
Scholastic Store
Disney store
Madame Alexander Store
Toys R Us(this must be open still right?)
Also, if someone could give me any of the addresses, that would be wonderful!
Any recommendations for cool stores or things to check out? We have zoo%26#39;s and aquariams, so no need for those!
Thanks so much!!!
Are these stores still available?
Have you tried looking at the store websites for their store locators? Those usually give the address
Are these stores still available?
Toys R Us in Times Square is certainly open, as is Disney - it%26#39;s around 55th St on 5th Ave.
My children love M%26amp;Ms World on Times Square too.

Neighborhood: SoHo
557 Broadway

New York, NY 10012

The Disney Store will be closing in (I%26#39;ve heard) January of 2010. Actually, they are moving to a different location, but it will just be a regular Disney store like anywhere else, not a huge one like it is now. It is located at 5th Avenue and 55th Street.
This is the main reason I%26#39;m planning a trip to NYC in December, so that I can go before they close!
thanks so much! that helped a lot! i%26#39;m glad to hear i%26#39;ll make it to the disney store in time! :)
I%26#39;ve got a funny photo of the Disney Store with the big orange RODENT ABATEMENT sign on the front door, from a few years ago. It would seem they had a mouse problem at Disney.
Scholastic is easy to get to from the N or R train. Get off at Prince and walk with traffic one block. It%26#39;s a modern building in red and white, meant to blend in with the cast-iron buildings around it.
While in the neighborhood, you might go four blocks west to Spring St. near West Broadway. A zebra-striped store just for girls, called GirlProps, is there.
Toys R Us: Also on the N/R line. Get off at 42nd Street. It%26#39;s at 44th and Broadway. Clean restrooms, incidentally, are at the top floor of Toys R Us, right in front of the elevator%26#39;s top level.

One correction: Girl Props is located on Prince Street, not Spring. It%26#39;s a bit cheesy, so have a look before you visit:

The Museum of the City of New York is a low presure sort of museum, it has a great gift shop and a wonderful collection of toys on display:

Walking the Brooklyn Bridge, with the Brooklyn Ice Cream factory as a reward on the BK side:

Remember to take time out from you busy day to allow your kids to play. Meet some real New York parents [or the nannies.] Here are some great playgrounds. My fave is the Rockefeller Playground in Lower Manhattan:

Hope that you and your daughters will enjoy their time in New York.
