WOW!!! Holy Moly - I had NO idea. Thank you very much!

Not sure what%26#39;s at the end of all those links but rowing a boat in the lake or taking a gondola ride would be at the top of my list.

My single favorite thing to do in central Park is to rent a row boat ..... it%26#39;s $10 dollars for a half hour ...... right by the Bethesda Fountain and the Boat House Cafe

Rowing is easy once you get the hang of it. You start out by the elegant looking boathouse with people %26#39;brunching%26#39;, then pass the Bethesda Fountain area (maybe some street musicians playing music in the background), then make a turn and pass under the %26#39;marble bridge%26#39; ..... then you turn into a huge expanse with marshes, turtles, ducks and an occasional egret. All the while you can just about see the roof tops of the tall buildings peaking out above the lake and every so often an Italian %26#39;gondola%26#39; will pass with a guy singing opera and dressed like he just came from Venice. If you go early in the day and during the week then it%26#39;s not crowded at all.

This is incredible - I just thought it was a big park with not much to do once you get inside!

JJ - do yourself a favor - check the Central park website - eye-opening!!

By the way, I think I remember you saying that you%26#39;ll be here near the end of June. If that%26#39;s correct, you might be interested to see a free concert by the cast of the musical Hair, which happens on June 26th as part of the Good Morning America concert series in Central Park:

JJGeoria .... also realize that that %26#39;The Metropolitan Museum of Art%26#39; (suggested donation and great roof cafe with views of the park) ..... and the %26#39;Museum of Natural History and Planetarium%26#39; (w/butterfly enclosure) ..... are technically located IN Central Park.
