Is there a good area of Manhattan for thrift shops?

Here is another question related to trip my bro and I are planning next year. Is there a good area to find thrift shops? Or a really good one that you could suggest. We are not into designer clothes, just normal stuff.

There are three of them on East 23rd between 1st and 3rd Avenues, and I think another one in the same area of either 22nd or 21st.

there are a bunch in the high teens west of 5th Ave. 18th, 19th streets. Also, on 23rd between 6th and 7th there is a good one. And, down in the Village.

There is a sort of chain called Housing Works that is all over the city - the one in my neighborhood has great stuff - on 18th between 7th and 6th. There%26#39;s another large one on 23rd and Lex.

The designer ones tend to be in the East Village.

You know Belize ..... if you expand your horizon just a tiny bit ...... there%26#39;s also a whole confluence of thrift stores in Williamsburg Brooklyn. It might also be nice to get off %26#39;that island%26#39; (Manhattan) for a day.
